A culture of protest, a culture of animosity
If you desire to see the raw underbelly of an overly tolerant democracy, then watch or listen to today’s US Senate hearings on Judge Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh is a smart, friendly, humble, kind of nerdy, bookish federal judge who had the audacity to be nominated to the US Supreme Court.
Why audacity? Because he is not super liberal. Because he does not walk in lock-step with the media arm of the Democrat Party. Because he has a judicial philosophy that is directly connected to how America was founded. He does not run around making legal judgments that are contrary to the US Constitution.
All this makes him audacious in the eyes of people who would use the US Supreme Court to achieve de facto legislative results they cannot get in the US Congress. Kavanaugh is audacious in some people’s eyes because he dares to fill a vacant seat on the Court, and play a constructive role in administering US law and jurisprudence.
To me, it looks like the most boring job in the world. Though at one time, in the heat of my youth, I aspired to be a constitutional scholar and actually studied a lot of constitutional law at Penn State and in graduate school (Vanderbilt) in preparation for it. My uncle has argued twice in front of the US Supreme Court, and on his second trip I was honored to help draft an Amicus brief and sit in the audience while the justices grilled both sides.
But now, look at how even Kavanaugh, The Most Boring Man In The World, is attacked and dragged through the mud by opponents of a lawful society. A shameless howling mob greeted him and the entire world today in one of the world’s most hallowed democratic chambers, the US Senate. To watch and listen to Kavanaugh’s opponents today in The People’s chamber, you would not know that we live in the most civilized nation.
From the 1960s to present, a culture of protest has developed to the point where the ends justify the means. That is, if someone opposes a political issue or a political person, they can go batshit crazy in front of everyone and put on the most foolish antics, with the craziest accusations, and the most violent and destructive behavior, because they are simply protesting.
And because they are protesting, they must be correct, is how they think. And if people oppose them, or have a majority in a legislative chamber or on a court, then every possible brick must be thrown in order to stop them…is how they think.
Where protest has its healthy roots in the First Amendment’s guarantee of peaceable assembly and petitioning the government, today’s protests are anything but constitutional. They are violent and hate filled, lawless and vile, cruel and destructive of people and property.
A very real culture of animosity has resulted out of the 1960s, and it is a bad thing, a toxic thing, corrosive and uncivilized. Its practitioners do not wish to live and let live; they desire control above all, and the use of angry mobs and threats to intimidate their opponents into acquiescence.
In the 1930s and 1940s, Hungary fell the same way. Slowly but surely the Communists there used a combination of violent mobs and corrupted police and courts to eliminate their political opponents. The Hungarian Communists used democratic processes and institutions to achieve non-democratic, tyrannical ends. Hungary went from one of Europe’s great nations to completely oppressed under the Communist boot. Only through uprising and great sacrifice were the Hungarian people freed once again, long after many horrible repressive crimes had been committed.
That same thing is now happening today with the national Democrat Party, whose hatred for the common person, the working person, the taxpayer and citizen, America’s “normal” and boring people, like Judge Kavanaugh, is so overwhelming that it can no longer be controlled.
If you love America, if you enjoy your simple pleasures and the basic freedoms we have here, then tell your US senators you support Kavanaugh, and do not vote for Democrats. The national Democrats do not have your interests at heart. Democrats care much more for illegal aliens (purported “victims”) who murder and rape our children than they care for you or me, taxpaying citizens who have worked hard to build this nation.
A good, decent man, a Justice Kavanaugh will restore some semblance of lawful and constitutional behavior to America, and the howling mob opposes that. Don’t let them win. They are not “protestors,” they are angry, lawless destroyers who pretend they are under the protection of the First Amendment.
is “racism” now dead?
Like the little boy who kept falsely yelling out “wolf! wolf!,” and who was then eaten by one when his genuine cries for help were ignored, false accusations of racism, sexism, etc have burned out the audience they were aimed at.
Politically motivated fakes are a dime a dozen.
So ludicrous have accusations of racism become, that Caucasians have been told they are racist merely because of their skin color.
Not their actions. Not their words. But just their skin color.
This is the most racist thing possible, of course. Ascribing character traits based on skin color is nothing but racism.
And the self-appointed arbiters of and supposed guardians against racism said nothing about this hypocrisy. Many of them encouraged it overtly or by acquiescence.
Likewise, the accusation of sexism is applied to just about any man, regardless of his actions. It’s silly, but it’s routine. Those of us with daughters in college are not sexist. We are bankrupting our families so our daughters can be all they can be.
And of course there’s the unreal “islamophobia” accusation, now part of the politically correct package of false failings.
Westerners are naturally phobic (afraid) of beliefs and the people who hold them, when they are associated with cruelty, violence, injustice, unfairness, and hypocrisy. Islam’s book, the Koran, calls Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists cows, donkeys, apes, pigs, and so on. The Koran mocks and denigrates over half the global population, and enslaves all of its own women, and yet we are bad people for resisting it? For being afraid of it? I am terrified of Islam!
The “wolf! wolf!” shouting also includes environmental policy these days. Apparently a reasonable person cannot think for herself, and judge all the facts on her own, without running the risk of being negatively labeled a “climate denier.”
Of course the truth is that our free-thinking woman here is in fact denying fake, politicized science that is about 10% science and 90% shouting. She is entitled to be skeptical.
Today a video is circulating the Internet. It shows a “white” man being dragged from his car and brutally beaten by a raging mob of “black” people, incensed that he dared to vote for a candidate they did not approve. He voted for Trump, apparently. His attackers repeatedly accuse him of this failure.
And the national media, politicized as they are, have ignored it. The Jesse Jackson Klan has ignored it. This video does not support their false narrative that white people are violent racists.
The video shows just the opposite, that racism and violence are epidemic in the American black community.
Most of the American public distrusts or disbelieves the establishment media, and the self appointed guardians of social causes, with good cause. Like in the 1700s, when governments held the communication channels, citizens now communicate facts and ideas around the censors at ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, BBC, NYT, etc. The more these fake “news” outlets engage in social engineering, and lies, the more the citizenry will push back and ignore them.
What is sad about this is problems like real racism will then be generally ignored, or worse, allowed to grow, like among African Americans. Racism, as an accusation, is now almost dead, because it cannot be taken seriously, except in very narrow circumstances. The white guy beaten by the black mob is a good place to start.
You cannot keep crying wolf and expect good people to come running. Eventually they think you’re a fraud.
USS Liberty…what happened and why we should know
In the heat of the Six Day War just fifty-nine years ago, an American Navy spy ship in the eastern Mediterranean Sea was strafed, bombed, badly damaged, and I think 34 US Sailors died as a result, with many others getting hurt and having lasting combat-related injuries.
Despite the documented history of friendly-fire incidents going all the way back to Greek and Roman naval battles, with not one being in common parlance or memory today, the attack on the USS Liberty has persisted and persisted and persisted up until right now, when it serves as a battle cry against the only reason anyone knows anything about it: Jews.
Israel’s ships and planes attacked the USS Liberty, by mistake, and thus has a special grudge and entire anti-Jew movement built up and carried on around the incident. That Israel is America’s only real and loyal ally makes the accusation carry even more weight.
No Jews, no news, goes the modern adage. Because the USS Liberty involved a handful of Israeli naval sailors and pilots, all Jews everywhere are despised, and the state of Israel became a criminal enterprise, this USS Liberty movement says. For the mistaken acts of some warriors in the heat of battle, all of their kinsmen everywhere must be hated, judged, cast out, and exterminated forever, says this political movement based on the USS Liberty attack. No forgiveness ever!
If you doubt me, go online anywhere the USS Liberty is discussed, like a YouTube or Rumble video, or a written article, and see for yourself. The comments sections are filled up with endless acid vitriol for all Jews, everywhere, and ditto for the existence of the state of Israel. As if this one brief incident speaks for the full character of every single one of the ten million Jews around the entire world, and for an entire nation.
Which is bizarre, because no other group of humans anywhere is judged entirely in its entirety for the acts of a few in the midst of an existential battle for survival.
Despite having a long, bad reputation as thuggish ruffians, the Irish today are beloved leprechauns. There is no hateful world-wide anti-Irishman anti-Ireland movement based on some anti-British massacre by Irish nationalists that occurred two hundred years ago. My own quip is that if you don’t have at least a tiny amount of Irish in you, you are not a real American. No one hates all of the Irish, certainly not Ireland as a nation.
Ditto for Germany, whose crimes against humans in World War One and World War Two were truly monstrous. No one hates all Germans everywhere, and no one calls for the dissolution of Germany as a country, based on its national actions in the early and mid-20th century.
Ditto for Russia and Russians, whose terrible crimes against Poland and Polish citizens for the past two hundred years, or its own extermination of Chechens just twenty years ago, could easily disqualify them from belonging to world civilization.
And so on, including South Africa, which today in 2026 is far more racist and Apartheid than the South Africa of 1986.
And so this reveals why the USS Liberty incident has persisted well beyond the regular shelf life of any other friendly fire example, including the inexplicable recent 1-2-3 tail-end shoot-down of three American fighter jets by a Kuwaiti fighter pilot two months ago. Three expensive American fighter jets that were protecting Kuwait from Iranian bombs and missiles, shot down from behind by a pilot whose deadly actions defy any scrutiny, except for a jihadi mindset against white infidels. But… crickets from the USS Liberty crowd.
Here is what is known about the USS Liberty attack: It was a friendly fire mistake, on a warship that appeared to have no flag and which did not respond to radio challenges or identify itself, during the intense Six Day War in 1967.
Yesterday, Roger Stone disseminated an essay about the USS Liberty. You can find it on his SubStack page. Stone takes a slightly different tack from the usual “hate-the-Jews” mob, in which he blames President Johnson (“LBJ”), Sec. of State Robert MacNamara, and others leading American government in 1967, for the USS Liberty incident, its alleged coverup, and the alleged failure to hold Israel fully completely and totally accountable. Which, of course, as all these conspiracy allegations go, in the end leads Stone to implicate all Jews and the entire nation of Israel….which is the same end result as the other “hate-the-Jews” mob.
It has been distressing to see Roger Stone grasp at internet clicks, and reveal a hateful side of him I had never detected before he wrote that Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, and other open Jew haters, are just good America-first patriots, and anyone caught up in their hateful net deserves to be in it. Roger Stone remains a compelling victim of the Biden witch hunt, and his subsequent character reveals have been truly sad to witness (if you hate all Jews, not just the far left ones who damage America, but all Jews everywhere all the time, including the conservative ones, you have an emotional or mental problem; it is a sickness).
The most sober and thorough discussion of the USS Liberty attack is done by conservative commenter, Jeremy Boreing. His approach is slow, analytical, thorough, methodical, not flamboyant, not flip, not bombastic, not caustic. Fifty nine years later, let us honestly remember and fully appreciate the service and sacrifice of our American Navy Sailors on board the USS Liberty. It is important to know the truth, because in truth bad accidents happen, mistakes happen on the field of battle, and it is best that we understand this reality and not defy it by dreaming up mysterious or nefarious explanations that prevent us from problem solving in the future.
