Kathy Barnette campaign files over 10,000* signatures!

The campaign for Kathy Barnette for US Senate has filed over 10,000* ballot petition signatures from registered Republican voters in Pennsylvania, well beyond any other candidate.

*UPDATE March 21st, 2022: Final ballot petition signature count for Kathy Barnette’s campaign is over 12,000! HOLY COW! This is serious grass roots support!

Pennsylvania requires 2,000 ballot petition signatures to qualify for a place on the ballot as an official candidate for US Senate.  Although a candidate’s campaign may file the requisite number of signatures, there is a small but serious cottage industry in disqualifying both voter signatures off of ballot petitions, and in DQing entire ballot petitions altogether. So, having a large (in Barnette’s case it’s huge) buffer of extra signatures and petitions means that opponent candidates will have a much harder job knocking a candidate off the ballot altogether. In this case I believe it is impossible for Barnette to be knocked off the ballot, because her signature margin is so large.

What an enormous indication this is of Barnette’s grass roots popularity. While her campaign may not yet have the zillionaire funding of Bartos or McCormick, Barnette does have the support of the voters. And if there is a lesson that establishment candidates have been taught more and more since 2008, it is that the voters don’t care about fancy campaigns or flashy candidates with impossible promises. What the voters want more than anything is a real candidate, an authentic American, which Kathy Barnette is.

Candidates Dave McCormick, Carla Sands, and Dr. Oz all recently “moved” to Pennsylvania to run for this senate seat. Only Kathy Barnette and Jeff Bartos are actually from Pennsylvania, and of these two only Barnette is a conservative working person. Bartos is a flashy RINO…yuck.

It is quite clear that Barnette is the voter favorite. Her polling is already ahead of Bartos and Sands, even though Barnette is starting fresh with no name recognition. Barnette’s public support is only going to grow.

Wouldn’t it be refreshing for the other candidates to set aside their egos and their big financial dreams, drop out of this race, and start supporting Kathy Barnette now, so that she is in her best possible position to win when the November election arrives? Why are they putting us all through this charade? Kathy Barnette already has this primary race won!

Kathy Barnette, honest to goodness all-American candidate for US Senate

You are damn right I still support President Trump

Despite a howling mob’s best effort to obfuscate, harangue, punish, slow down and hamstring the president of the United States, I still strongly support him.

What broken third-world country do we live in where otherwise normal everyday Americans boast about being in “the resistance” against their own president?! Are they running a guerilla civil war against the country?

Can you imagine if these were conservative militia members saying this about a president in the other political party? The uproar that would follow!

This shameful notion that liberal activists as well as average Democrats have about “resisting” a legally elected president of their own nation is incredibly harmful to our nation. All the foolish talk about our electoral system being compromised by “Russia” hurts the integrity of our electoral system, because it undermines people’s trust in it.

And yet none of these liberals wants voter ID, none want the local voter rolls to be purged and verified. Oh no no no, that would remove too many fake voters from the rolls!

One of the reasons I support President Trump is that, by and large, I agree with his choices and policies. Certainly not all of them, but definitely the preponderance. There are some policies and actions I think his administration could do better, like in the environmental and resource conservation fields. More nuance, more refined distinctions, more sophisticated analysis. But like with any other elected official, you learn to take the good with the bad, and with this particular elected official I believe we have much more good than bad. This president is running a net Positive. America is booming!

Another reason I support President Trump is that he is standing strong amid a withering personal crusade against him, his children, his grandchildren, his wife, his in-laws, his friends, his business associates, his business partners, his employees, his friends, his neighbors, and everyone else who has any sort of association with him. It is meant to punish him and everyone he cares about. Just for him being him.

This ridiculous attack is way outside the normal scope of American politics. It is unprecedented. It is unfair. It is evil and disgusting. If it were Obama, or Clinton getting this same treatment, you couldn’t get away with it for ten seconds.

For me and I think a lot of Americans like me, this very personal and destructive assault on President Trump is an attack on basic American decency and on our system of government. No one in public service should be subjected to this. Certainly that is what some people argued about president Bill Clinton, when he was caught having sex with women in the White House and then lying to cover it up.

People who win elections should get to carry on with their work. That is the way our system works. Is supposed to work.

That the media have been corrupted into this crusade only cements my view that this treatment of our American President is simply unjustified and wrong, enabled by the corruption of the First Amendment.

That Hollywood actors feel free to use the most vulgar language against the person who was elected to represent our country means that they, the Hollywood people, are that low vulgar quality. It does not mean anything about the person they are aiming at. Hollywood and its actors are really in the smelly gutter. Makes you wonder why you went to see their stupid movies in the past. Why should we enable such infantile jerks?

All of this mistreatment has only hardened my resolve for President Trump to stay in office and succeed.

So when people ask me “Josh, do you still support President Trump?,” I say “You are damned right I support President Trump!”

To Hell and back.

Why I support President Trump

When Donald Trump threw his hat in the ring to compete for president of the USA, I was like most other people: “Oh please, give us a break.”

Donald Trump came across as a TV personality, a funny guy with a heavy New York accent and a big self-promotion streak. Like most people, I did not think he would last a month as a candidate.

And then after that month had passed, I began paying attention to what he was saying, and just as important, what his competitors were saying. The guy was taking flak from all corners within the Republican Party. Some of it was fair criticism, and a lot of it was BS, petty and snide cuts meant to hurt Trump, not to promote the guy who said them.

Like a lot of conservatives, I was a Ted Cruz supporter. But when Cruz’s campaign began trying to flip past primary election results using BS legalisms (“I am a lawyer and I am here to prove to you folks of Indiana that your votes for Trump were actually meant for me”), I saw Cruz as another Washington DC insider with more ambition than principle. And that is when I became a Trump supporter.

I still was not sold on Trump as Trump, but I was sure as heck not going to vote for some DC lawyer who tried to reverse already settled primary election results. I called the Cruz campaign HQ and complained, and turned my attention to Trump.

Trump was all over the place. On a given Monday he would speak my language, like putting America first and stopping seventy years of American taxpayer underwriting of the rest of the world’s defense and industrial development. And then two days later Trump would get in a verbal pissing match with some moron Hollywood “celebrity” or other political establishment person.

This erratic communication style both bothered me and intrigued me. On the one hand we finally had a candidate who was walking tall, bucking the political system and doing it with refreshingly straight talk. On the other hand, what the hell was he doing trading barbs with these lowlifes, whose sole contribution to the world was the occasional theatrical skit (both actors and politicians)?

It seemed so beneath a presidential candidate. But then again, as the weeks went by, this out-of-nowhere candidate was beginning to speak about policy in a more articulate way. His rough public edge remained, but his policy acumen was building impressively. When the Pennsylvania primary arrived, I happily cast my vote for Trump.

And when Trump and Clinton finally collided at a debate, his superiority was overwhelmingly clear.

And ever since that first debate, I have watched in amazement as Donald Trump has refused to back down in his quest to protect American workers, citizens, and taxpayers from the incredible number of tentacles reaching into our lives, our nation, our security, and our wallets.

Most of his policies and political picks I agree with. Mostly, I like that Trump is pushing back against a bi-partisan anti-citizen establishment that is both in elected office and deeply entrenched in the DC bureaucracy.

His “Make America Great Again” message is something I pooh-poohed at first, but it now resonates strongly with me, especially the more I think about and see how much the rest of the world has been taking our taxpayer money, from our one nation, and using it to both help their nations AND to undermine America. That is nuts and it cannot continue.

Finally, the mass hysteria aimed at Trump, the insane things and total lies about Trump that I see and hear when I watch cable news, all those supposedly honest reporters who are so obviously partisan, who also try to damage Trump by omitting all of the successes he has had. And add in all the violent words and behavior aimed at Trump and his supporters. All of this negativity is fabricated. It is total BS. It is just a bunch of spoiled losers yelling and screaming because they did not get their way. None of it has any substance.

All of it is unfair and undeserved, and that as much as anything else makes me support Trump, an underdog up against an intertwined political and media establishment.

And the Mueller “investigation”? We now know that the original FISA warrant was obtained under false pretenses, using the Steele “dossier,” itself a political hit-piece filled with phony baloney. The whole “Russia collusion” thing was in fact a Clinton activity, and she should be under investigation. Not Trump. Mueller should be ashamed of himself for what he is doing. He is badly damaging America, and those who support him care only about damaging America so they can hurt Trump. That makes them anti-America in my eyes. Yes, their behavior makes them the actual enemies of everyday Americans.

So I do support President Donald Trump. Yes I do. And I do more and more every day. The guy has grown on me from the beginning of his entrance into politics, he is doing a good job as president, and the false accusations, the hypocrisy, the actual insanity surrounding him daily, only proves to me that he has earned my support.

Keep leading us forward, Mister President. We support you.

Thank you

Surprisingly, to Me Anyhow, Romney Wins Round One

Mitt Romney is a heck of a nice guy, a good guy, an accomplished guy.

He has more competence in his pinky than Barack Hussein Obama has in his whole body. He is genuinely friendly.

But Romney is not known for being a toe-to-toe fighter, a brawler, or a passionate advocate for core American principles.

But last night, enough of all those attributes aligned for long enough for Romney to clearly outshine Obama in the first presidential debate.

Obama was petulant, smirking, arrogant, and glaring. He seemed bored, and above it all; all he needed to do was check his watch (George Bush Sr., 1992), or sigh dramatically (Al Gore, 2000), and he would have fully conveyed his displeasure at being at a debate, defending his policies.

Obama was anything but presidential.

At a rally today, Obama was heard on the radio saying that the Romney at last night’s debate was not the same Romney that Obama has been describing in his attack ads, including the one that Obama himself backtracked from because it was an outright lie.

Why didn’t Obama say that to Romney last night? Is he afraid to actually debate him?

Those who watch Obama’s personality and analyze his background would not be surprised if Obama is actually physically afraid of Romney. One of the most telling photos of any president was the one taken in the White House war room, as the Bin Laden raid unfolded. Obama is seen cowering, obviously afraid. The man simply lacks courage.

Those who know my political beliefs know that I was not a big Romney supporter. Without rehashing them now, suffice it to say that his strong points can also be his weakest points.

Last night, however, Romney gave me cause to open my wallet and make a donation to his campaign, something I had been reluctant to do after the anti-conservative Rule 15 fight on the RNC floor.

Mitt, you earned my support.
