Book review: A Rebel from the Start by Avi Yemini
Like a lot of news hounds disgusted by the brazenly partisan establishment narrative activists at the “mainstream media” outlets like MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, NPR, PBS, Reuters, the Associated Press, the New York Times, the Washington Post et al ad nauseum, I have spent years chasing down the few actual news sources that would give me the facts and just the facts. Sites like The Gateway Pundit, Breitbart, Zero Hedge, the Epoch Times, and podcasts by Dinesh D’Souza, Dan Bongino, and Jan Jekeliek now give me a 360 degree news and information coverage that has been sorely lacking for so long.
One of my most recent finds was Rebel News, back in 2020, when the world was melting down about Covid and hardly any news outlets were asking any questions about why the world was melting down about Covid.
I was up in the mountains, usually alone, running the sawmill and physically exposed to no one, with my main link to the outside world the very slow internet connection we had then. Then as now, the establishment media simply carried the establishment narrative and fear-mongering political message for the blatantly corrupted CDC and other federal agencies so visibly taken over by the pharmaceuticals industry. Rebel News was different, and from 2020 into 2021 its founder, Ezra Levant, really stood out by asking basic questions. He asked questions of people in power, he asked questions of people in official positions, he asked questions of police officers gleefully and violently enforcing Covid lockdowns in Canada and Australia, and he asked questions of people in the street. How refreshing! A real newsman!
Rebel News then added a few truly intrepid reporters like David Menzies, Sheila Gunn, and a confusing man named Avi Yemini. I don’t want to make this book review all about Rebel News and Ezra Levant, but the fact is that without Rebel News, the free world (ha) would know a lot, lot less about Covid tyranny than we know now. And what we know now has informed freedom loving citizens across Canada, America, Australia, and Europe to demand an end to health tyranny and a return to responsive, representative government.
While all of the Rebel News reporters have done really amazing work, one of them stood out, this earnest, tattooed, sometimes almost innocently child-like Avi Yemini fellow. He was unafraid and would wade right into the lockdown protests with his Rebel News microphone, and was often dogged by Jew haters and violent government thugs alike.
Sheila Gunn, Ezra Levant, David Menzies and other Rebel News reporters all have done great work, but none of them have the cool Australian accent, the Jewfro, or the odd name that Avi Yemini has. And so I really began to closely follow every video and interview he put out. Because Avi Yemini has a foot in about a half dozen different worlds simultaneously, I was more than intrigued. Who was this guy? Why did he remind me of the ADD prancing black knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Where the hell did he come from? Why was he so laid-back-open-minded on the one hand, and yet asking such pointed questions of people in power on the other hand?
His interviews along with Ezra Levant of Hitler Youth climate grifter Greta Thunberg and ultra shady Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla put Rebel News squarely in the international spotlight. He then had an amazing followup debate with Nas Daily, an Israeli Arab who is so fully integrated into the establishment that he carries all the water left in the Middle East for all the political establishment there.
Just when I thought I could not take the suspense any longer, Avi Yemini wrote a book about himself, which debuted a few months ago. Titled “A Rebel from the Start,” Avi seems to bare all in this book. I mean, I don’t think he leaves much to the imagination. Said another way, he seems to be much more honest about his childhood and his failures than anyone else I know would be. Reading the book helped me understand Avi personally, but not really politically, or ideologically. And I am unsure if that understanding will ever happen for me, anyone else, or even for Avi himself. To wit, he is from an Orthodox Jewish family, married to a woman of unclear religious beliefs but who has two Muslim kids from her first marriage. Add in Avi’s two kids and you get this big, boisterous mini riot blur of activity, full-on life engagement, and earnest questions about everything, and yet rigid ideology about nothing.
Avi Yemini is the anti-ideology news reporter. He has no ideological axe to grind. This is so rare in the news business that it is tough to get my head around.
And I think this last observation is probably the most refreshing aspect of Rebel News’ reporting: They don’t do what the establishment media does, which is daily parrot a set of talking points meant to artificially buoy up the corrupt political establishment. Rather, Rebel News staff are unafraid to ask the glaring, most obvious questions that anyone with a scintilla of care about where Western Civilization is headed (presently down the tubes and gaining speed) would be interested in. Avi Yemini is a colorful, inquisitive, fearless, insightful interlocutor and news reporter, and his book is a fascinating read for those of us who have watched his rise in prominence with awe and wonderment. I highly recommend it.

Rebel News, heroes of the World Economic Forum
Nature abhors a vacuum, and when it is healthy the natural world is designed to quickly fill up vacated or otherwise empty space so that other life may flourish.
Such is the gigantic accurate information void left on Planet Earth by the missing-in-action disinformation narrative spewing lying mainstream brown-nosing legacy media (NPR, BBC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS, NYT, WaPo etc), that a tiny little news reporting outfit called Rebel News has very quickly occupied it, clinging on for dear life most of the time. And I mean tiny, like maybe a dozen really intrepid and brave reporters placed strategically around the world. Sheila Gunn and David Menzies in Canada, Avi Yemini in Australia and New Zealand, a few young people in Canada whose names I regretfully forget right now, and of course the Rebel News boss and founder, Ezra Levant, who is everywhere all at once.
Yes, Breitbart will provide news reporting from their perspective, and so will The Gateway Pundit, where one of the Hoft brothers may end up reporting from the ground. Other non-establishment news sites like Zero Hedge and Conservative Tree House kind of report and also do enough digging to add a fuller and more accurate (truthful) understanding to some complete lie put out by the Associated Press. But only Rebel News has old fashioned news reporters scurrying around, asking Very Important People crucial questions about their actions, their thinking, their policy goals for the rest of us.
Well do I recall encountering Rebel News two years ago. Ezra Levant and David Menzies were covering the covid1984 lockdown tyrannies in Montreal, Ottawa, British Columbia, and other Canadian cities and provinces. Rebel News reporters closely covered (like right there in the thick of the physical altercations and police violence) the official abuse and repeated false but violent arrests of peaceful Pastor Artur Pawlowski, while the mainstream media liars stood outside the churches and dutifully reported the official state narrative about how Pastor Artur’s free speech and free religious practices were such a great “threat to democracy.”
They also covered the Canadian truckers’ convoy protest.
In Australia, Rebel News reporter Avi Yemini repeatedly took to the streets of Melbourne and Sydney and other Down Under cities to report live from peaceful anti-lockdown protests. Not only did Avi Yemini document the citizen protests and the incredible, overwhelming, and illegal police brutality against the citizens, he himself was violently arrested a bunch of times, for doing nothing more than holding a microphone and asking basic questions about lockdown policy and the illegality of unwarranted, unjustified police brutality.
Avi Yemini kept coming right back to the fore, at Australian protests large and small, over and over again, to do what news reporters used to do. And the incredible thing about it is, Avi Yemini WAS ALL ALONE from the news media. He and he alone was reporting just the facts from the ground, shining a bright light on wild tyranny, while establishment media staff stood around and lied over and over again, repeating a false narrative about covid1984 and lockdowns and masks and so-called covid vaccines to support and protect their political masters and keep them in power.
Doggedly, Avi Yemini kept crowd-funding to pay his own ridiculous fines for engaging in free speech, and also to help pay the fines of other people, like mothers with kids in public parks, who had been violently attacked by Australian police and thrown in jail. For playing with their children in public parks. Each of these unbelievable antidemocratic acts was a news item, and in each one, Avi and Rebel News helped fundraise to cover the victims’ legal and court costs.
Where the mainstream media reported each night about the violent police and the violated citizens as if “they deserved it,” Rebel News kept asking the police, the citizens, the protestors, and the officials just how did any of this anti-democratic behavior make any sense. In person, real time, at the actual site of the arrests and police boot stomping and horse trampling of little elderly grandmas.
Yemini’s last big result was exposing New Zealand’s communist-fascist Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for the control freak liar she was. She resigned last week, after Rebel News’ expose.
In the end Avi Yemini and Rebel News prevailed, both in Australian and Canadian courts of law, and in the court of public opinion world-wide. They have been the David to the mainstream media-government industrial complex’s Goliath.
This past week, while the mainstream media organizations were paid invitees at the WEF, Rebel News was the only visible news organization at Davos, Switzerland, where the very mis-named World Economic Forum was held by a bunch of control freak billionaires and their sycophantic groupies. Led of course by the skinhead supervillain Nazi (no, I am not making this up) Klaus Schwab, whose plans for all humans of the world is that we all will “own nothing and be happy.”
Oh, but Klaus Schwab and his billionaire buddies will own everything, and they will be much, much happier than the rest of us.
Yes, the WEF is a full-on assault by elites against representative democracy and government led by The People. It is exactly the kind of organization that should be questioned and probed. If only the news media would do its job. Thankfully, Rebel News was there (so were a bunch of elected Republicans as well as the FBI director Chris Wray).
I just sent Rebel News a small donation, because they are heroes. They and they alone in the entire media enterprise are holding truth to power, and asking real questions of super powerful people on behalf of The People.
What was their budget for their presence at Davos this entire past week? A whopping (sarcasm) $22,000 for about ten staff. Judging by the colossal luxury offices opened at Davos by MSNBC, CNN, and illegal “stakeholder capitalism” investors like BlackRock, their own representatives there must cost $22,000 each per day. At least.
The one moment Rebel News really gained attention was where Ezra Levant and Avi Yemini doggedly pursued Pfizer CEO Bourla and peppered him with the correct hard-hitting questions about his so-called vaccine’s effectiveness and all of the damage it has done to otherwise healthy people around the world, even while he Bourla personally raked in hundreds of millions of dollars. If you only ever watch one video of Rebel News in action, you have to watch this brief video.
Is Canada now a political gulag for Biden?
Imagine you donated to some conservative causes, some conservative candidates. You have probably left some pro-America comments on-line, including some criticism of “president*” Biden or his administration.
Now imagine you take a summer trip up to Canada. You know, hang out at a remote lake with your friends, catch walleye, pike, bass, and maybe lake trout. Eat well, relax under the stars, and recharge your battery. You have done it off and on for twenty years and you are on a first-name basis with the lodge owner or outfitter who gets you tucked in after you cross the Canadian border.
Only now, something has changed, this week. This is not imagination, it is real. Canada’s prime minister Justin Trudeau just declared martial law, and his administration is already seizing the private bank accounts, pets, vehicles, passports, etc. of Canadian citizens. These people being victimized by their own formerly democratic government are not lawbreakers. They didn’t set fire to anything, they didn’t vandalize anything, they just protested peacefully or donated to lawful organizations that organize democratically to oppose Trudeau.
But now under Trudeau’s martial law, the rule of law is suspended. There are no objective standards with which law enforcement officers (who have been caught texting their enjoyment of brutalizing peaceful protestors in Ottawa) conduct themselves. Worse, the Trudeau government has a political enemies list of not just Canadians, but also Americans. And they are probably borrowing from the Biden gang’s enemy list, too.
So imagine you arrive in June at the Canadian border to set out on your annual fishing trip, and the next thing you know, you are being handcuffed and spirited away to some remote Canadian prison. You have not been charged with any crime, and because Canada is now under martial law, you have no due process rights. None. You ask to call your family to tell them where you are, and that is declined. Because you are either a political enemy of Biden or Trudeau, you are now completely screwed, because the Biden Administration is not going to weigh in to help out you, their citizen.
Nope, the Biden Administration is going to thank Trudeau for locking up their political enemies for them. And God only knows where you will be in a month or a year.
This is where we stand right now. By all indications, Canada is America’s new gulag, where political prisoners will be either sent or caught at the border and stored out of sight and out of reach. Zero civil liberties and zero human rights.
If I were an American who had exercised any of our constitutional rights here on American soil in the past two years, I would not step foot anywhere near the Canadian border. I would stay far away from Canada. Because it is probably a trap that will destroy your life. Treat Canada like a dangerous No-Go Zone (and the same can be said for Washington, DC, and many lawless leftist cities around America, where conservatives have zero civil rights or even human rights).
All around the world democracy is suddenly under assault, from within the democratic countries, not from without. New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Canada, and America are all being attacked by anti-democracy forces from within our own governments. Why this lawlessness is happening all at once is anyone’s guess. It certainly does appear to be coordinated, and all of these inside-job political hijackers are ruthless.
Unless you are an illegal alien from some other country…who might prove useful in displacing and oppressing the native people here in America, or Canada…
One thing Rush Limbaugh got right
Radio host Rush Limbaugh died a year ago, and people who enjoyed his show or his books are remembering him today. I am remembering him for two reasons. First, for his zig-zag career path and conventional/unconventional life path. Second, for a single political prediction he made in 2019 that was labeled “outrageous” and “dangerous” by his opponents, and which even raised a lot of eyebrows amid his supporters, but which has proven to be spookily prescient and 100% accurate.
First with number one.
Rush Limbaugh’s successful life path and career path are things worth studying, because so many Americans have been corralled into falsely believing your career must be, should be a straight and linear path forward. Even though that is just not correct, and in many cases it’s not healthy.
You know, graduate from high school, then go to college and spend an inordinate amount of money to be indoctrinated in nonsense and useless hokum, with the hope of getting a college diploma that “proves” you are smart and capable of making decisions. I don’t know if this linear career path idea is a natural result of the old guild mentality, where a son or daughter would apprentice in a particular guild (plumber, wood worker, watch maker, gun maker, horse carriage maker etc.), and then either take over his or her father’s work shop, or go start their own work shop/ atelier in some distant locale doing the same work. In truth, this guild and apprencticeship process offers a lot of value, not just three hundred years ago, but even today. It assures that young people go into work they enjoy, and that they are well trained when they are released unto the world as a certified expert. It also gives people a good income in what had been a feudal world of poor serfs and ultra-wealthy aristocrats.
But this guild approach to career saw its last vestiges swept away with the end of high school Shop Class and Vo-Tech programs that actually taught Americans how to do needed things of value.
And so Rush Limbaugh followed his own path in the radio world, and ended up being the most successful and well-known radio personality in radio history. His success did not happen in a linear way, but quite the opposite. He had to find his way. His stories about his first few jobs in radio, and about being fired by different types of radio managers for different kinds of real or imaginary infractions, and moving across the country several times to take radio jobs, are useful examples to those just now entering the work force or who are stultifying in old jobs.
Only after failing, or growing as it might be euphemistically called, did Limbaugh eventually get to sit behind the Golden EIB Microphone. It was his initial failures and zig-zags that eventually created his character and inner strength, his skills and abilities.
Lessons that Limbaugh learned were be yourself, be honest and forthright, work hard, take risks, make some sacrifices, and if you end up doing what you enjoy the most, then you will often be rewarded with material success and deep personal happiness. And as we well know, contentment is its own form of wealth (and as some of us know, there are a lot of very wealthy people who are also desperately unhappy and often cruelly, even destructively negative, to those around them), so becoming a high school shop teacher earning forty five thousand dollars a year may make you deeply content with your life, but your life partner is going to have to work, too.
But there is no such a thing as high school shop class these days….one should wonder Why…that is a separate issue.
Similarly, his personal life resulted in a strong and committed marriage to a woman, Kathryn, only after the two of them had been friends for many years. How rewarding it is to be married to both your lover and your best friend. That is the pinnacle of relationships, and Limbaugh’s marriage should serve as a useful template for others contemplating marriage themselves. Find a friend, and marry them.
Now about that crazy prediction Limbaugh made in 2019, the one thing he got right that at first sounded so outlandish and impossible…I remember shaking my head when he said that “the Democrat Party will seek a way to eliminate elections so that they can become the dominant and sole political force in America.”
“I don’t know how they are going to do it, but they are working on it,” Limbaugh said. “Oh, they will allow the trappings of elections, but they won’t be meaningful or fair.”
And I was not alone in my skepticism at such a huge claim. Many observers and listeners to Limbaugh’s radio program openly said that he was just being bombastic for the sake of poking his political opponents. No one in American politics could ever want to eliminate elections, the bedrock foundation of our constitutional republic, right?, we naively thought.
And yet Limbaugh stuck to this public claim several times more, and in the end he was proven correct with the stolen 2020 election, and the Democrat Party’s all-out hyperdrive to convert that theft into absolute iron control of Americans by any means necessary, including the federalization of elections and permanence of vote fraud activity.
It turned out that Limbaugh really did understand the Democrat Party and the American Left better than anyone else outside of those two movements. What is amazing is that the subject of his analysis, the Democrat Party, now makes no effort to hide its totalitarian ambitions. Everywhere American citizens have demanded audits of the voting machines or the ballots cast in the fraudulent 2020 election, they have been met with deviousness, rude defiance, threats, blocking lawsuits, and outright ballot-shredding skulduggery by the Democrat Party and its Republican Party enablers.
This is not the behavior of people committed to open and accountable elections, but rather the actions of the desperate and dangerous thief trying to keep his theft from becoming widespread knowledge.
America as a continuing constitutional republic is in huge trouble. Most of our institutions are overthrown and taken over by leftist activists, who then bend those cultural and political institutions against the American constitution and the rule of law. Rush Limbaugh was so deep into the political fray that like a champion prize fighter, he saw where his opponent’s next punch sequence was going to come from.
What is amazing is that the Republican Party still, even now, behaves like an amazed ringside commentator asking incredulously at the end of the fight how the champion prize fighter ever saw the attack coming and not only beat it back, but managed to land his own blows in order to win the fight. This just goes to show just how outside the political fray the Republican Party is; the GOP is barely an observer much less an actual participant in American politics.
We need Rush Limbaugh’s insights more than ever now, but he is somewhere else, and so the only bit of related wisdom or insight I can scrape up at this point is to say We must all be Rush Limbaughs, and each of us fearlessly stay in the fight for freedom and liberty.
And trust our gut instincts about our political opponents. Even if it seems like crazy talk to say that the Democrat Party or its Canadian political ally, Justin Trudeau, are hell bent on becoming absolutist totalitarian overlords. We must fight fight fight, or we lose everything.
Cruz Quixote
Ted Cruz was my candidate until he was clear he’d rather be used by the GOPe to block Trump than stand on his principles, do or die.
Now with another Super Tuesday primary election behind us and boosting Trump, with zero chance of a Cruz win, Ted Cruz has decided to go on a Quixotic anti Trump jihad.
Cruz has made damaging Trump his top principle. Not defeating Hillary. Not promoting an overhaul of the GOP. Nope. Hurting Trump is now Cruz’s raison d’etre.
Pathetic. And unpatriotic.
At this point, a real American would step aside and cheer on the front runner. A real American would consider the national interest before his own.
Not Cruz. Being an obstructionist is now his highest and best use. This is sad to me, as I had thought he was bigger than this juvenile behavior.
It’s so bad that some Pennsylvania Cruz -aligned delegates are talking openly of going to the Republican convention just to work against Trump.
Donald Trump still does not represent my values very well, nor do I trust him to be the warrior in office he is now. But Trump is a damn sight better than Benghazi Billary, and he’s now our standard barer, for better or worse.
Time to let go of personal ambitions in the greater interest of America. Or maybe move to Canada and just get out of our way.
